Conditions Treated
Myofascial Release (MFR) and Cranio Sacral Therapy (CST) can treat a wide range of conditions. Some of the commonly treated conditions are: • Muscular-Skeletal conditions (Arthritis, Muscle strain, ligament sprain, tendinitis, neck pain, back pain, joint pain, Bursitis, Sciatica, Whiplash, Tennis elbow, Plantar Fasciitis, Disc herniations, Spondylolisthesis, Spinal stenosis, Patello-femoral Syndrome)
Interdependence of Body Systems
Some in modern medicine have unfortunately compartmentalized the human body. They focus too much on specific organs and body systems, and utilize targeted drugs, therapies and surgeries. Not always do these targeted therapies improve the overall health, because of the interdependent nature of human body systems.
Our body is a connected system. There is a huge inter-dependency of cells, organs, systems on each other to achieve normal functions of the body.
Myofascial Release and Cranio-Sacral therapy allows us to offer an integrative approach towards healing. It addresses the whole body-mind health of the patient.
Patient Story A 76-year-old lady came to me for chronic lower back pain. She also had uterus prolapse, urinary incontinence and chronic acid-reflux. She was regularly seeing an orthopaedic doctor for her low back pain, a gastroenterologist for uterus and bladder condition and an internist for her acid-reflux. Unfortunately, none of her doctors spoke to each other to offer an integrated plan of care. Therefore, she was on many different medications and used a Pessary to hold her prolapsed uterus in place. Her low back pain, acid-reflux and bladder incontinence were managed symptomatically - providing her only a “Band-Aid Effect” and not attending to the root cause. Due to her increasing back pain, she was referred to my practice. Upon evaluation I identified her myofascial restrictions that were interfering with the mechanics of her pelvis and rib-cage.
With MFR techniques I could release the tissue restrictions gradually. This allowed for her pelvis to sit in a more stable and centred position which eventually eased the excessive load on her lower pack and she got pain relief immediately. This improved pelvis position allowed for the organs within it, the bladder and uterus, to function better.
MFR and CST always attends to the body as a WHOLE!
• Post-surgery (Joint replacements, Spine, Hip, Knee, ACL & Meniscus, Shoulder Rotator cuff, Foot and Ankle, post-surgery scar management)
• Balance and Vestibular disorders
• Fibromyalgia and other connective tissue disorders
• Repetitive stress & overuse injuries
• Women’s Health (pelvic or perineal pain, pre & post-natal pain, C-section scars, episiotomy related issues, bowel or bladder dysfunction, menstrual dysfunction)
• Chronic pain, Chronic fatigue, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis
• AND other conditions like Chronic Headaches, tension headache/migraines, jaw pain (TMJ issues), gastric reflux, nausea & dizziness

With continued therapy, she got more aware of her posture and came out of the guarded slouched posture she held all day. This started relieving her chronic acid-reflux. All her issues were beautifully attended by the gradual progression of MFR. She got significant pain relief, improved bladder control, increased awareness of her body, improved function and most importantly an improved quality of life!
